When he retired from the Lancashire Constabulary in August 2001 Dave decided that he wanted more flexibility in his working life so set up his management consultancy,
David J Jones Ltd, and now offers the experience he gained, both as a police officer and as a manager, to the public and private sectors.

His interest in family history started many years ago but the demands of his role as a police officer meant that he could not devote as much time as he would have liked to this fascinating subject. However, friends and colleagues frequently sought his help when researching their family histories so, now that he has his own company, he decided to devote part of his endeavours to providing professional local history research services to the public.

A chance meeting with old friend and colleague, Tony Prince, led to the decision to work together on this venture. Tony is an experienced and much acclaimed local history researcher so the two friends now operate together to the benefit of their clients.
